As always, the sketch comes first, and then lines and the finished product later. I just think its really neat to see the first draft, then the end result side by side sometimes.
I rarely keep track of what I've drawn, as well as the process that goes into a drawing. Luckily I've been able to save the working progress to the finished drawing.

South X SouthWest came again this year, and this time, I was able to spend a day wandering around downtown Austin with my bestie @a_a_ron88 ! We had a good time and came out with a nice loot too. Next year we're planning on making a proper weekend of it. More free things! Yay! We first went to the #sxswesteros exibit early in the morning. We were lucky enough to get in and out very quickly, but easily spent a good hour or so inside. They had three large screens projected on the wall, and you were able to grab a wooden sword and strike at targets being projected. Like a Game of Thrones Wii game! You eventually 'colored' in your portrait that they had taken prior to you getting up on stage. Bestie decided to join the fun at the last minute! I recently went with my best friend to the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX South) in San Antonio this year! I was only able to attend on Sunday, after all the events and crowds died down, but it was still a lot to see in one day, and we had a blast. PAX South is a gaming expo, and it features some of the newest games and indie games in the industry. And we got to see the Occulus Rift as well as the newest 3DS thats going to be available soon. I'll definitely be coming back for more days next year! I also bought the most fun card game ever. And i'm really not one to play card games. Its called Superfight, created by the guy who made that angry burrito post online. I was only able to buy the Pop Culture expansion pack, but its still enough to play with. So thats really the reason I bought it. I'd love to get the core deck and play! We also got some freebies that were being handed out and had dinner on the Riverwalk, at the Hard Rock Cafe, and complained on how we didn't want the day to end and to go back to work the next day.
Visited Mercedes during the Labor Day holiday weekend! It was so good to see my mom and sister, along with the baby nephew! And my dogs, how I've missed my dogs so so much.!! Every year for the past, 5 years i believe, Mercedes has thrown a street fair during Labor Day weekend. This year was a little bigger, and there was some cute stores there as well as music playing all night! This thing was from 1pm to well past midnight! I bet everyone had a good time. I know I did. I got to spend it with my Mom and my sister and her BF and the baby. Who was fast asleep during the whole thing. Man, babies can sleep through anything sheesh. These little boogers got baths when I got home, because they STUNK and neither of them were very happy about it TBH.
My little brother spent the month with me in Austin, and this past weekend was the annual BatFest. This fest celebrates the largest urban colony of mexican bats in the world. Over 2.5 million little bats have made the Congress Ave bridge their home. And in the summer months, it's become an awesome viewing for locals and tourists alike. You don't need to be attending BatFest to see the bats come from under the bridge since this is a nightly routine! We had food truck foods and sweets, heard some awesome bands play and watched street performers promote their show for later in September. There was a lot of people here this year, probably because it was the tenth year, or because Blue October was going to be playing later on that night. Crowd control and trafficking could have been handled much more smoothly. I have hesitations about going next year because of how bad it was. Okay so, after that last blog entry I caved and preordered the ALTAiR Makoto figurine for 118£ (about $140) But...he's worth the money, and all my extra cash is going to go to getting him, Haruka and now the newly announced Rin. I'm going to have the trio, it's decided. Thats usually the easiest way to be happy really. Make some short goals and acheieve them one goal at a time. I've set up my work schedule to look forward to paydays(fridays), and water day (wednesday) and now, im thinking about turning my savings account into my figurine account savings. Mostly because today they announced that Altair, a really high quality figurine company is making a Rin figurine and I really want to have the trio of Haruka, Makoto and now Rin. It's going to be expensive to even find a Makoto and Haruka unless they have them on backorder through amiami.com, but I still want to try. I'd preorder Makoto but, preorders are closed and I really, REALLY, dont want to go to amazon or ebay where he's being priced at $140 and up. AmiAmi.com has him for about $90 to $100 plus shipping, but still, i trust amiami for it more than an amazon seller..... Anyway, speaking of figurines! My little collection is growing! And then, I went and caved and preordered these, and they'll be set to release in September and October. Plenty of time to save up for those crazy international shipping costs.
South Padre Island July 2014! It was a beautiful day, and I got to spend it with my family. We had sandy sandwiches and brought along the dogs to enjoy the weather, and they hated the water aahha! But it was such a nice day, and even though I got burned, I wouldn't trade it for the world. It was relaxing and by the time we all got home, everyone, including dogs, were exhausted and ready for sleep! I can't wait to go back, I miss the ocean so much!
Had a wonderful time at the beach during my vacations! I dont want to go back to work now! And in other news, I have some very interesting burn marks on my shoulder blades oh no.....
