Will be at the paramount theater in July to see the Welcome To Nightvale live show! I'm excited to see it!
I had a wonderful time last weekend with some besties! Got inspired to do more art and I should really take some time to wander around the art districts. The Capitol building in Austin is actually larger than the White House! Anyway, this Saturday I'm going to an art reception at a local gallery. Can't wait for the weekend, I've been working so much lately...🐳 I really like working with handlettering when I get a chance! This was today's warm up, it's been ages since I've opened up my laptop and did something. I still have a logo and a tattoo to color, so I hope this creative streak lasts! Tomorrow is the Pecan Street festival here in Austin, so I might get some inspo from that too! 🐬 Wow! Where did the time go?! It's been about a month since I've updated my blog and website, and while I'm still figuring things out, the next thing on my agenda is to save up for my trip to Ohio for a week!
And my very first plane trip! I have been asked to color in some tattoo designs, as well as a logo design. And I'm being a little overwhelmed with work. Now I'm working two jobs, and I'm gone all day. There's so many things I want to buy to help my art out. (New laptop, new tablet, maybe an ipad or windows tab.) But there's also saving I need to do for July and my sisters baby shower and baby and commandeering of my old room, not to mention figuring out how to move all my stuff from my home back in South Texas, to here in Austin before the baby is due in June. (a 6hr drive and no days off makes this very hard) But it is summer time, and in honor of the new season of Free! I've decided to make a new hand written shirt/sticker design. So thats another thing I'll be working on. Wish me luck! Went to finally see the Lego Movie at the Drafthouse. It was hilarious and positive and i left feeling AWESOME It was horrible driving conditions on Thursday night, and I don't ever want to try that again. Austin had freezing rain and sleet and ended up shutting down the city. Major expressways and roads were closed, so driving home took a lot of time and fearing that I was going to slide. It was one hell of a night. That's all I'm saying. Austin has many roads that are long bridges and are 4 and 5 tier over passes, so when snow or ice happens, it's dangerous since Texas gets snow about once or twice a year. There were lots of car accidents in the cities that experienced this weather, I'm just happy I made it home. Since I finally have a car to drive around town in, I went to see the Broadway show, American Idiot by Green Day. It was amazing. There was lights and the stories being told about growing up and the decisions you make and how not everything is a happy ending. That coming home, or rather coming back to a place you can call home is what's important. I went in a Black Flag tee and jeans, but the ladies I was sitting next to were dressed up to the nine for this punk rock show. Actually...a lot of people were. It was kinda strange. Today I bought a new car and it's so so so nice to be able to be an independent driver again. Back in August, my car broke down as it gave it's final adventure with me. So, since then I've been carpooling with my dad to work. That however is very tiring on the both of us and I was starting to feel a bit cabin fevery because well, I was cooped up all day. So today was the day! And now, we recieved the bill for carpet repair from our old apartment and it came out to $699. What a rip off. It's clearly at most $200, not the whole deposit and then some :/ Guess dad's not going to be a happy camper when I get home. Well, time to open up commissions and tee sales again! Got to make that money! More travels across Austin this weekend! There's a new In N Out burger place in town and we decided to check it out. It was busy, but I was impressed with their burgers. (Cause whataburger is king) Not only that, my bro got me the Hyrule Historia and Legend of Zelda and Theology book which sounds super interesting! But it makes me just love the series even more. There's so much history and timelines being explored and all the character designs that go into making these worlds. And the first Zelda and Link are tragic. But I love the character design for Link in the shoulder armor and cape. I think that would be a cosplay dream of mine to do. To have that finished and debuted at a con. |
